Garlock gaskets are made from a unique blend of fibers, fillers and a choice of several rubber binders including nitrile, SBR, neoprene and EPDM. Garlock Blue-Gard Gaskets excel in a wide range of industrial applications from water, saturated steam, oils, gasoline and other fuels to aliphatic hydrocarbons, refrigerants, inert gases and mild chemicals. Garlock gasket material generally comes in sheets of 60" x 60" or 60" x 120".

Fast Lube Oil Change System (FLOCS) or Oil Thief system

Advanced Fluid Connectors has taken the Eaton Aeroquip Fast Lube Oil Change System (FLOCS) to the next level by incorporating the unit with a mobile container and accessories package. FLOCS systems are a faster, safer and cleaner method of removing engine oil by evacuating the fluid via pumping. The system incorporates the FLOCS unit with a mobile 55 gallon drum and the hoses and quick disconnects you need in a simple and affordable package. This system allows you to quickly change engine oil anywhere at your facility and empty the waste oil fewer times and at your convenience.

Tygon Hose: Extra-Heavy Duty Tygon Tubing

Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics touts it's Tygon tubing brand as "Application Specific Tubing." But sometimes your specific application calls for more than just plain old tubing; sometimes you need a hose.

Tygon hose is certain formulations and styles of Tygon tubing that feature extra-heavy, extra-thick and/or inner-braided walls that allow for increased maximum working pressures and higher vacuum ratings.

Like Tygon tubing, Tygon hose comes in a variety of materials:

Eaton Aeroquip Flexmaster Joints, Couplings and Gaskets

Flexmaster Joints from Eaton are a quick, easy, efficient and economical way to make pipe and tube connections. There are many sizes of Flexmaster Joints, from .38" to 6" for pipe and 3/4" to 5" for tube.

Gaskets for Flexmaster Joints come in both standard and high-temperature BUNA-N, EPDM, fluorocarbon and silicone. Gasket styles include standard and self-restraining, which feature a stainless steel gripping ring inside which allows the joint to maintain a firm grip on the pipe or tube, preventing movement along the pipe or tube.

Basically, there is a Flexmaster Joint for almost any application you can think of and even special configurations and seal materials can be made-to-order.

Although commonly referred to as Aeroquip Flexmaster Couplings, Eaton does not include Flexmaster under its Aeroquip brand and the coupling is a piece of the entire Flexmaster Joint configuration.

No threading, flanging, welding, grooving or other special end preparation of tube or pipe is required with Flexmaster Joints. Use pipe after it is cut to appropriate lengths, but the Flexmaster Joint will accommodate large tolerances in the length of the gap.

Pipe vibration and noise can be drastically reduced with Flexmaster Joints. The resilient, thick rubber of the Flexmaster joint gasket absorbs vibration and noise. As explained above, use of the self-restrained style gasket restricts movement along vibrating pipes and tubes.

Even misaligned piping and tubing is no problem for Flexmaster. The Flexmaster Joint design eliminates flanged bolt holes and pipe threads that require careful alignment. The Flexmaster bulged joint permits up to a total of plus or minus 4° angular installation misalignment at each end while maintaining a leak-proof seal.

Installation time can be slashed by using Flexmaster Joints. Basic assembly tools are all that's needed. After extensive use, the gaskets can be replaced easily and quickly.

Alligator Belt Lacing Category Improvements on eMurdock.com

There have been some recent improvements to the Alligator belt lacing category sections on eMurdock.com. Murdock Industrial has sold Flexco Alligator conveyor belt lacing on eMurdock.com for a while now, but we're hoping the small changes and additions we've made will help you find what you're looking for quicker and easier.

The first improvement you'll probably notice on the main category page is that the lacing sizes are now clearly labeled with their corresponding conveyor belt thickness and organized in ascending order from smallest (under 1/16" thickness) to largest (up to 7/16" thickness).

Tygon Plastic Tubing: Flexible & Clear or Colored

As I said last week in my post about Tygon tubing material, Tygon plastic tubing is offered in a broad range of formulations, each engineered to meet specific user needs including resistance to chemicals, temperature fluctuations and abrasion, as well as high purity and long service life.

All 11 Tygon plastic tubing formulations are noted to be flexible, but not all of them are clear. Tygon F-4040-A is translucent yellow for positive identification as a fuel and lubricant tubing, Tygon R-3400 is black in color to resist ultraviolet light, ozone and weathering, and Tygon Silver Antimicrobial tubing is formulated with a silver-based compound on the inner surface at the point of fluid contact to prevent bacterial buildup.
